Audition for two theatre companies at once!

The Boise Bard Players is teaming up with The Luminary, a female-focused theatre ensemble founded by Dayna Smith and Jen Stockwell-Fortner, to bring The Medea Project to life this October. The Luminary is known for innovative, dynamic, and bold theatre centered around the female and gender-expansive experience in Boise. 

When you book your audition for our 2026 season, which includes Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, and The Medea Project, you can also choose to audition for The Luminary’s production of Funnie: The Most Lamentable Comedie of Jane the FooleYou can read more about The Luminary and their upcoming season and other ways to get involved with them here

Requirements

ACTORS:

  • For BBP: One 60-90 second Shakespeare monologue, in verse
  • For The Luminary: One 60-90 second contemporary comedic monologue. Please be prepared to read sides from Funnie and experiment with dialects (Cockney, Estuary, RP/Queen’s English)

Each audition slot is 10 minutes.
